NEW YORK, NY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2008 – Kevin Sullivan, MD has joined the Medical Oncology Department St. Vincent’s Comprehensive Cancer Center (SVCCC) as a specialist in Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Gynecological and HIV-related malignancies including Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, Kaposi Sarcoma, and Anal Cancer. The SVCCC is always in search of bringing in the top professionals in order to continue the overall growth and to ensure the ultimate in cancer healthcare. Dr. Sullivan recently completed a Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Manhattan. Prior to that, he completed a Categorical Internal Medicine Residency and Internship in Internal Medicine, also at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Manhattan. He graduated from Binghamton University (SUNY) in 1996 where he received a B.S. in Biological Sciences. He continued his medical education at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, where he graduated in 2002.
Board certified in Internal Medicine and soon-to-be certified in Medical Oncology, Dr. Sullivan, effectively and efficiently diagnoses and treats diseases. He is a contributing author of “Diagnosis and Multimodality Management of Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer,” “Spectrum of Thromboses in Patients with Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase (MTHFR) Polymorphisms: Continuing Controversy” and “Plasma exchange after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in multiple myeloma to reduce renal insufficiency.” “.” Dr. Sullivan brings up-to-date education and experience in oncology to his patients at SVCCC. Dr. Sullivan received two impressive awards. In 2000 he was honored with the David S. Gerbarg, MD Memorial Award, which is awarded to a first or second year student from the Hudson Valley, NY that has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. Then this year in June 2008, he was awarded the Peter Cyrus-Rizzo III Resident/Fellow Research Awards 2nd Place for “Spectrum of Thromboses in Patients with Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase (MTHFR) Polymorphisms: Continuing Controversy.”
